4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour – Double Gorilla Trekking & Golden Monkeys

You are met by your driver-guide in Kigali and transferred to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, take part in the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village tour — a guided walk exploring Rwandan culture, traditions and history. You can also visit the Musanze Caves, historically used as coronation grounds for the Kings of Rwanda. Afterwards, head to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, make your way to the park headquarters with packed lunch for the gorilla trekking briefing. You are assigned a guide and ranger, then spend one incredible hour with a gorilla family deep in the forest, observing their natural behaviours and interactions. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Wake up early, have breakfast and return to the park for your second gorilla trekking experience. This second encounter lets you spend further time with the gorillas, observing behaviours and moments you may have missed the day before. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, your guide takes you to Kinigi headquarters for a 7:00am briefing before the golden monkey trek. Golden monkeys live at higher elevations in the bamboo of the Virunga Mountains, and the trek covers more ground than gorilla trekking. Once you reach the habituated troops you will have time to photograph them, before transferring back to Kigali for drop-off at your location of choice.
