Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari

After an early breakfast, you start your Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari as you head North of Kigali to Kinigi at the foot of Volcanoes National Park as you enjoy spectacular views  and the amazing scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route as you head out to Ruhengeri. Check into the lodge and rendezvous at the lodge as you prepare for next day of viewing the majestic Gorillas and later enjoy dinner surrounded by the evergreen tropical forest.

Day 2: Gorilla Jungle Trekking

With an early breakfast, embark on your Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari as you are transferred to the park headquarters for gorilla briefing. Before venturing into this gigantic forest you will proceed to the headquarters of the park where you will gather for a vital briefing regarding these gorillas, prior to partitioning into groups and while there you will be permitted to spend one hour in the presence of these very peaceful giants as you watch and capture this memorable experience as they go about their day to day activities; the young ones playing around the old ones, feeding each other and eating foliage. 

The time spent gorilla tracking is unpredictable and varies from 2-8 hours before an encounter with the family of these gentle creatures with the location of each gorilla family depending on temperature, their feeding range and movement of the previous day. Depending on the time the trek ends you can decide  set out for a tour to the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera or take a community walk around neighboring communities of the forest. Later retire for an overnight at the lodge as you reflect on the amazing day’s activity.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali

With an early breakfast, drive back to Kigali and enjoy the City tour which includes Kigali Genocide memorial in Gisozi and the Rwanda National Museum, the time you spend here depends on you departure flight.
